Greetings from post New Year Dahab. With parties and after parties we arrived in the middle of January. Now majority went back to their office duties and we are remaining with a few enthusiasts craving for some good wind. The beginning of new year was not so windy. However 2012 presented us with south wind on the 7th Jan, which is very rare at our spot. South wind blows directly onshore and therefore it is very smooth and pleasant.
Then again calm until 14th and we took the time to master shisha art, new 33 ways of making waterpipe) When you visit we’ll teach you and smoke it out together.
And last Friday we all went to local dahab Friday market, which became traditional for a few months now. It is a nice setting organized by immigrant locals and it mainly carries social character rather than commercial goal. Some sell stuff that was pushed around in their wardrobes, some offer hand-made items but majority treat the crowd with their culinary delights, cookies, cakes, jams of local fruit mix, cheeses etc. The atmosphere is especially nice due to beautiful location on the beach of Eel Garden with tall Palm Trees and comfy water front cafes at the sunset.
Dahab remains reasonably small fishing village through the years with the only difference that there are more and more visitors and those who choose to stay here for at least a year. The reason for this is here: Dahab is a special place of comfort and sole. Visit us and you’ll see for yourself!
